VU in the Community (VUiC) creates and enables opportunities for VU and its surrounding communities by building trusted partnerships with local governments and community organisations across Greater Western Melbourne.
VUiC builds VU’s presence and reputation across the west through programs and place-based initiatives that:
- respond to local needs
- provide avenues for both residents and VU students to learn and work locally
- seek to bridge and connect collaborative opportunities across the region.
By contributing to regional development, knowledge sharing, place-based projects and events in Melbourne's west, VUiC strives to enhance both VU and the broader community through VU's presence in each of our campus precincts.
Our involvement includes partnerships across several council areas:
- Maribyrnong (Footscray University Town)
- Brimbank
- Hume
- Melton
- Wyndham
- Moonee Valley.
