Centre of Policy Studies (CoPS)

The Centre of Policy Studies (CoPS) undertakes economic-modelling research for governments and businesses in many parts of the world.

CoPS are the creators of Australia's best known large-scale economic models, ORANI, MMRF and TERM. Versions of these models have been developed for over 25 countries, including the following:

  • USAGE model of the United States
  • INDOTERM model of Indonesia
  • CHINAGEM and SINOTERM models of the Peoples Republic of China
  • VNET model of Vietnam.

CoPS' economic-modelling software, GEMPACK, is licensed to users in around 70 countries.

Centre for International Research on Education Systems (CIRES)

The Centre for International Research on Education Systems conducts strategic research that identifies how well education systems work, for whom, and how they can be improved to work well for all.

CIRES undertakes large-scale survey and policy-related projects covering every state and territory in Australia and every sector of education and training.

It also undertakes international comparative research examining the features and performance of education systems around the world.

CUFE-VU Centre for Research on Business and Economics (CRBE)

The Centre for Research on Business and Economics (CRBE) aims to promote collaborative research between Victoria University and the Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE) in Beijing.

Mitchell Institute for Education & Health Policy

The Mitchell Institute for Education and Health Policy is one of the country’s leading education and health policy think tanks and trusted thought leaders. Its focus is on improving our education and health systems so more Australians can engage with and benefit from these services, supporting a healthier, fairer and more productive society. The Mitchell Institute leads the Australian Health Policy Collaboration, an initiative that brings together over 60 leading health organisations to drive progress in tackling chronic disease.

Western Centre for Health Research & Education (Western CHRE)

The Western Centre for Health Research & Education (Western CHRE) aims to create a dynamic, innovative and sustainable teaching, training and research precinct in western Melbourne.

Sir Zelman Cowen Centre

The Sir Zelman Cowen Centre was named in honour of Australia's former Governor-General and distinguished legal academic, the late Sir Zelman Cowen. The Centre provides legal education, training and research, as well as support services on law-related topics for industry, government and the community.
