Victoria University (VU) offers a range of scholarships for undergraduate students. We know how important it is to have financial security while you're studying. Our scholarships can help take the pressure off.

You need to be enrolled in an undergraduate degree, honours program or Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education to be eligible for these scholarships.

Diversity

Asylum Seekers Scholarship

Study level: undergraduate degree
Study area: any
Eligibility: Asylum Seeker with Bridging, Temporary Protection or Safe Haven Enterprise visa, who has completed a course at VU Polytechnic
Value: tuition fees and up to $20,000 over four years of study
How to apply: Asylum Seeker Scholarship applications are via nomination only.

Moondani Balluk student grants

Study level: all
Study area: all
Eligibility: Must be a current student enrolled at Victoria University who identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
Value: values according to course level

Equity (hardship)

VU Access scholarships

Study level: TAFE, undergraduate
Study area: all
Eligibility: high school students, mature-age students, demonstrated financial hardship
Value: $1000 per year for up to four years (maximum of $4000)
How to apply: VU Access equity scholarship applications open 1 August 2022 and close at 11.59pm on 30 September 2022.

Santa Singh & Balwant Kaur scholarship

Study level: undergraduate and postgraduate
Study area: all
Eligibility: Identify as a female Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
Value: Up to $20,000 maximum over no more than 3 years

UniLodge Accommodation scholarship

Study level: undergraduate
Study area: all
Eligibility: Newly commencing full time students who are eligible for Special Consideration under specific SEAS categories and/or applied for an Access Scholarship at VU
Value: $3900–7280 to subsidise the cost of accommodation from between $75–149 per week

VU Western Chances scholarships

Study level: TAFE, undergraduate
Study area: all
Eligibility: high school students, demonstrated financial hardship, must have received a Western Chances scholarship at secondary school
Value: $1000 per year for up to four years (maximum of $4000)
How to apply: Western Chances applications are via nomination from Western Chances.

Women in Sport Scholarships

Study level: undergraduate and postgraduate
Study area: sport
Eligibility: Students who have experienced barriers and challengers in their academic and personal life that have prevented them from accessing/completing tertiary study
Value: $2000 per year up to a maximum of two years ($4000), plus the opportunity for mentoring from a VU Alumni sport community leader

Tertiary Access Payment (TAP) Scholarship

TAP scholarship

Study level: undergraduate
Study area: all
Eligibility: inner and outer regional, remote and very remote students who need to relocate to access tertiary study immediately following school (Year 12 or equivalent)
Value: $3000–$5000 for the first year of study

VU Guaranteed

VU Ignite Scholarship

Our exclusive VU Guaranteed program combined with our scholarships program offers Year 11 and 12 students from partner schools the opportunity to receive financial assistance.

Two successful Year 12 VU Guaranteed applicants from each partner school will receive a $2000 Ignite Scholarship.

One successful VU Guaranteed Year 11 applicant from each partner school will be awarded a $500 Ignite grant to help set them up for success during Year 12.

These scholarships can help with expenses like technology, software, text books and public transport costs.
