Victoria University is committed to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through employment opportunities as part of our ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion.
We have a dedicated, full-time Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment and Community Liaison Officer who works with prospective and existing staff and managers to support their recruitment and development at the University. The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment and Community Liaison Officer provides assistance with:
-
job applications
-
interviewing processes
-
induction
-
ongoing wellbeing.
We also have an Indigenous leave policy that provides for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to take leave to meet family, ceremonial and cultural obligations, and stay connected to their community.
The University’s Yannoneit Employment Strategy (YES) encourages the recruitment, retention and development of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff and promotes a culturally safe environment.
For further assistance please contact the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment and Community Liaison Officer via email: [email protected].
